POTENTIAL TRAFFIC IMPACTS RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION 
OF 16@95 IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 
Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen I-16 and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. The lane closures are necessary for tree removal on I-16, widening activities for I-16, and work on the new I-16/I-95 Interchange bridges. For daily traffic impacts and real-time traffic alerts, please visit Georgia NaviGAtor at www.511ga.org.

Monday, August 30, 2021, through Thursday, September 2, 2021, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to Chatham Parkway (MP 162)
Monday, August 30, 2021, through Thursday, September 2, 2021, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 eastbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 162) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160) 
Friday, September 3, 2021, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to Chatham Parkway (MP 162)

Nighttime Closure and Detour 

Monday, August 30, 2021, through Thursday, September 2, 2021, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Nightly)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations 
  • I-16 eastbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 162) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160) 
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to I-16 Chatham Parkway (MP 162)
Monday, August 30, 2021, through Thursday, September 2, 2021, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)
Double lane closures at the following locations 
  • I-95 northbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 98 to MP 100) 
  • I-95 southbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 101 to MP 98)
Holiday work restrictions will be in place beginning Friday, September 3, 2021, at 12 p.m. until Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 5 a.m. No lane closures or work that restricts or interferes with traffic will be conducted during this time frame.
ADVISORY: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
