Update, Praises and Petitions

Update:
Happy Tuesday morning friend of Atlas,
What an amazing month August was. We hosted a variety of events and had a great time doing it!
At the beginning of the month, we celebrated the third anniversary of Atlas in Lincoln with an Open-House at our new office. So many awesome people showed up, leaders from the community, supporters of Atlas, and folks from our neighborhood all came out for food and fellowship.
That same week, we hosted our Third Annual Mini-Golf Outing. You can find all of our incredible sponsors here and see some pictures from the event here. We had nearly a 50% increase in attendance from last year and had a great time with food, lawn games, and mini-golf.
Finally, Atlas held its first in-person Mentor Training Workshop since the pandemic began. 7 faithful followers of Jesus attended and learned more about what it means to be a mentor for someone who is hurting in our community.
While it was a jam-packed month, I am so thankful for all the amazing things happening at and through Atlas. God continues to bless this ministry in ways that surprise and humble me every day. One of those blessings is you! I thank God for you and the support you provide to this organization.

Praises

• The blessing of great events throughout this last month.
• We almost have our open staff positions filled! More staff on the front lines loving people allows us to serve more hurting folks in our neighborhood and community
• We praise God for a very productive strategy session with our Board of Directors in July. So much amazing vision for direction and long-term planning for Atlas: Lincoln. Stay tuned for an update and report for Atlas' direction in the years to come.
• We lift up our board of directors, who all serve in many different capacities. We also pray for the potential of new board members and committee members in 2021
• New people continue to reach out for services! We are blessed to be able to serve the hurting people in our community
• Praise God for His goodness, His provision, and His faithfulness through the uniqueness of this year

Petitions:

• We have a few clients on our waiting list for mentors, may God send people to us with a heart for Him and mentorship. If you would like to see what it means to mentor with Atlas, join us for the Mentor Training workshop on September 21 or fill out the application here
• As we continue to build this ministry, we are seeking a volunteer Prayer Coordinator. If you have a desire to serve with Atlas outside of a mentoring role, please contact this address
• With new office space brings many new opportunities for support and volunteering. Contact the Atlas office if you want to find our more about serving with Atlas.
• We continue to pray for our new mentor-mentee pairings, that they would grow close in the love of Christ. We've celebrated a number of pairings this year already, with more in the works
• We pray to continually cultivate healthy partnerships with churches, agencies, non-profits, and businesses across Lincoln in order to serve people in an increasingly holistic ways
• Join us in prayers for justice and reconciliation in a world divided and filled with anger and pain
