Bellevue Families,
Thank you for an amazing eight days of school over the last two weeks. Despite the ever present weight of the pandemic, we could not have asked for a better start. Through mitigation efforts and your support, we have been able to maintain in-person learning.
To date, almost a dozen Kentucky school districts have had to close for a brief period or delay opening. In all of those situations, large quarantine numbers caused the shut down. If we are to avoid closures or full-scale NTI, we must remain vigilant in our mitigation strategies, including sanitization, distancing whenever possible, and indoor masking.
I can not say this more clearly: unless recommendations change, our best chance at avoiding shut downs due to mass quarantines is to continue with our strategies. I do not want students learning from home unless they choose to do so. I want our children at school and I believe you do as well.
Have a great weekend. I look forward to seeing our students again on Monday.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robb Smith- Superintendent
