September 1st (Romans 3:25-26)
Pray for the Romans team. The translator wants many Deaf to see how God gave faith and righteousness to Abraham in Romans 3:26 and Romans 4:16.

September 2nd (Obadiah 11)
Pray for the Obadiah team. The translator learned from verse 11 that he should not refuse to help those in need.

September 3rd (Joshua 1:6)
Pray for the Joshua team. The exegetical checker found Joshua 1:6 to be impactful because it teaches that we should always meditate on and be strong and courageous in sharing God’s Word.

September 4th (Psalm 8:1)
Pray for Pastor Minamida and Tokyo Deaf Church as they worship today.

September 5th (Ezra 3:11)
Pray for the Ezra team. After the second community check, they have been revising the draft to make it more clear for Deaf people to understand the context.

September 6th (2 Peter 3:18)
Pray for the 1st and 2nd Peter team. This is the second attempt translating these books. In late August, the new team met to familiarize themselves with the background and the context of 1st and 2nd Peter. They revisited the whole life journey of Peter, realizing that he stands on a solid relationship with Jesus, other disciples, and Christians in different areas.

September 7th (Psalm 9:1)
Pray for Mr. Yamamoto, who is thankful he can work on more translation drafts as the other staff checks the third party feedback.

September 8th (Colossians 3:17)
Pray for Mr. Hori, who is thankful that the team has started to use the new recording equipment to work more efficiently.

September 9th (Exodus 15:2)
Pray for Ms. Otsubo, who is thankful she could finish preparing an operation manual for the JSL Bible DVD’s.

September 10th (Proverbs 2:11)
Pray for Kohki, who is grateful that God protects the translation teams, and that they can make progress and try to make the best use of their time.

September 11th (John 14:27)
Pray for Fukushima Deaf Church and Yamagata Deaf Church as well as Pastor Matsumoto as they worship today.

September 12th (Acts 12:24)
Pray for Uiko. who is thankful that the translation plan was approved during the board meeting. Also please pray for high quality of JSL Bible translation so that the Deaf will fully enjoy seeing it.

September 13th (Luke 8:43-48)
Pray for Pastor Matsumoto, who wants to share about the woman who came up behind Jesus to touch His robe and receive healing in Luke 8:43-48.

September 14th (2 Thessalonians 2:13-15)
Pray for Ms. Otsubo, who is encouraged by 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 and she feels led to share the Gospel with others.

September 15th (Luke 5:31-32)
Pray for Mr. Yamamoto, who would like to share Luke 5:31-32 with Deaf people. Jesus’ invitation for a sinner is the great message during this pandemic.

September 16th (Acts 14:14-17)
Pray for Mr. Hori, who would like to share how these verses teach that we should see God at work in the world.

September 17th (Romans 2:12-13)
Pray for the Romans team as the exegetical checker deeply thinks about Romans 2:12-13 because it teaches that we have to admit to ourselves that we fail to live up to our own standard.

September 18th (Philemon 1:25)
Pray for Pastor Sakaguchi, his family, and Deaf Bible Baptist Church in Kagoshima as they worship today.

September 19th (James 5:7-11)
Pray for Mr. Yamamoto, who has been encouraged by James 5:7-11 that teaches God’s abundant mercy. We should act as if Christ will come soon.

September 20th (Obadiah 12)
Pray for the Obadiah team. The exegetical checker finds Obadiah 12 impactful because it teaches him that we should never be happy about others’ misfortunes.

September 21st (Joshua 6:21)
Pray for the Joshua team. The exegetical checker is encouraged by Joshua 6:21 that shows that desire for personal gain distracts us from our spiritual purpose.

September 22nd (Ezra 10:4)
Pray for the Ezra team as they have decided to do another round of community checks with the revised draft. Although this is an extra step, they see it as a great opportunity to train the next generation of translators. Please pray for this process, especially for the signer to absorb and acquire what is necessary for a good translation.

September 23rd (Luke 24:45)
Pray for the 1st and 2nd Peter team as they study vocabulary and concepts for the translation. A lot of the vocabulary is used without explanation (e.g. elect exiles, sanctification of the Spirit, etc.) meaning the readers are already familiar with the concepts. Beyond all that, Peter must have had good communication skills with both Gentiles and Jews alike. And what a blessing that thousands of years later, we can have this beautiful new identity through Jesus Christ, thanks to Peter, Paul, and others who were so brave to share the Gospel in challenging times!

September 24th (Philippians 1:6)
Pray for the Obadiah team. The translator and exegetical checker ask many people to pray for God’s protection on this translation process so that they can make further progress on both consultant and comprehension checks.

September 25th (Matthew 22:37)
Pray for Pastor Kori as she serves on the leadership team and for her congregation in Hiroshima.

September 26th (Psalm 32:7)
Pray with Mr. Hori as he prays that God will protect his multiple tasks of exegetical checking and video editing.

September 27th (1 John 5:14)
Pray for Kohki’s request that each translation team improves the drafts in accuracy and clarity.

September 28th (Genesis 22:14)
Pray for the Support Team to serve the translation project in Japan well and for God to provide more volunteers to serve on the Support Team.

September 29th (Ecclesiastes 2:26)
Pray for Mr. Y and his family as he travels and serves many translation projects in Asia Pacific.

September 30th (Acts 17:27)
Pray God’s blessings on the Christian office landlady in Tokyo and for her husband to seek Jesus as his Savior.

These prayer requests come directly from the staff in Japan. Thank you for joining your heart with theirs in prayer.  We thank God for all of you who support this project and pray so faithfully! This project would not exist without those who give, pray, and serve.

THANK YOU!
