October Fall Hike in the Mountains
We are planning a trip to the Len Foote Hike Inn in North Georgia in October.  The plan is to take in the Inn, visit the Southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, and hopefully take in some Fall colors in the mountains.  There are currently around 20 members of our Chapter that are signed up to go.
The plan is:
1.    Monday, October 18, 2021 – travel to North Georgia.
2.    Tuesday, October 19, 2021 – Hike five miles up the mountain from Amicalola State Park to the Len Foote Hike Inn and spend the night.
3.    Wednesday, October 20, 2021 – Hike from the Inn up Springer Mountain to the Appalachian Trail and return to the Inn for a second night.
4.    Thursday, October 21, 2021 – Hike down from the Inn and head for home.

The hike from the Park to the Inn is moderately difficult.  The hike to the Appalachian Trail is a little more difficult.  If you would like to join us, make your reservations at the Hike Inn (hike-inn.com) for the nights of October 19-20, 2021, and then notify Elwood McElhaney (emcelhaney@embarqmail.com) for trip details and to be added to the information distribution list.  Contact Elwood for questions.
