COVID-19 booster shots now available for people over 55 years old 
Minister of Health S. Enkhbold reported that a third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to people who have been fully vaccinated starting today, due to the recent increase in the delta variant of COVID-19 and because antibodies decrease over time. The third dose is currently available to people 55 and over, people working in the education sector, people taking immunosuppressants, and people with chronic illnesses. A total of 450,000 people will receive the booster shot. Based on projections from PCR analysis and the spread of the delta variant, the number of new infections is expected to rise sharply next month. State authorities say that vaccine inventory is sufficient at 5.73 million doses.
Domestic consumer confidence index fell to 66.4 points   
In the second quarter of this year, the consumer confidence index reached 66.4 points, decreasing by 0.4 percentage points, as reported by the National Research and Consulting Center.
Compared to pre-pandemic 2019, the confidence index has fallen sharply. A confidence score of over 100 points is considered optimistic.
In Ulaanbaatar, the index is relatively positive at 72 points. The assessment of business conditions and the current state of the labor market increased by one point nationwide, reaching 37.8. Although the business environment has deteriorated due to the pandemic, access to employment has improved.
Mongolian coking coal price increases due to supply shortages 
The price of Mongolian raw coking coal at China’s Gantsmod Port has risen to 2,300 CNY per ton due to declining supply, SXCoal reported. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Chinese side has suspended the transportation of coal from Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod port. The Shiveekhuren-Sekhe port reopened on August 26, after a one-day shutdown. Coking coal futures price on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose 2.2 percent to 2,435 CNY per ton.
Agricultural exchange data 
Last Friday, 40.1 tons of sheep wool, valued at 68.9 million MNT, was traded on the Mongolian Agricultural Exchange. Sheep wool was traded at 1,400-3,000 MNT per kg. A total of 254.8 million MNT in sheep and camel wool was traded this week, down 20 times from last week's trading. Since the beginning of August, trading activity on the exchange has been relatively weak.
