WATERWISE NEWSLETTER: HOLIDAY DELAY
The WaterWise Newsletter for the week of September 6 - 12 will not be available until Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
We recognize that for Monday and Tuesday waterers, this may cause a hiccup in a normally smooth routine. Despite the delayed watering recommendation, here are some tips to help you water wisely next week.
- First, keep an eye on the weather. When sunny skies and warm temperatures occur for several days in a row (with no rain in sight), Frisco Weather Station data will likely recommend once per week watering on your regularly scheduled recycling/trash service day (usually 0.25" to 0.5").
- Next, check the current moisture level of your lawn. If your soil moisture meter indicates your lawn is "dry," water according to the Cycle and Soak Method on your regular watering day.
- Cycle and Soak to save water and money. When you use the Cycle and Soak Method, the water you apply (and pay for) will soak into the soil and nourish your lawn's root system, instead of being wasted as runoff.
