17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

September 12, 2021 is a going to be a full day at Faith starting with the fall launch many new things.

Voter’s Meeting September 12, 2021 at 12:15 pm.  We will be meeting live at 12:15 pm for our September Voter’s Meeting to approve the 2021-2022 budget for Faith Lutheran Church and School and some updates on other matters at Faith.  Watch for the Voter’s publication next week. It is all good.

Thank you!

Thank you for the 40th anniversary celebration in the ministry,  the $250 gift card, and the cake.   I don’t know where the years went, but it continues to be a joy to serve our Lord Jesus, along you all, here at Faith.  May our Lord, Jesus Christ continue to keep His sovereign, gracious hand upon us as we strive together in One Mission Forward in Faith - Connecting People to Jesus.

Thank you again,

Pastor Carl

KIDS CONNECTION LAUNCHES IN TWO SUNDAYS

Beginning September 12th, Kids Connection kick off for the fall, starting in the sanctuary with prayer, music and main story teaching at 9:25am every Sunday. Then, we will break off into small group and head for classrooms for more Bible lesson, games, crafts, and fellowship.  We will wrap up at 10:30am.

Sign up online at https://faithmarietta.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/82/responses/new.  Or go to our website at  https://faithmarietta.com/kids-connection/ to find our more information about Kids Connection. Look for the Kids Connection table in the narthex after services starting this Sunday to sign up, find a place to serve, or just to get more information.

We’re two weeks away from starting our journey together:  “Reading through the New Testament in a year – ONE CHAPTER A DAY.”

I hope you are getting excited about walking through the New Testament together.  Weekly worship, daily reading, and Connection Groups are three of the ways you can be involved.  I hope you will decide to do all three.

Weekly worship is a no-brainer.  You are already doing that.  Daily reading may be new for you, but, on average, each day’s reading will take between 2-5 minutes.  (While I was writing this article, I stopped to reading through Day 1 – Matthew 1.  It took me 2 minutes and 53 seconds.) And if you prefer to have it read to you, that will be available every day on our onechapteraday.com website.  For greater personal growth, there will be daily prayer and some “points to ponder” for you as you have time. Of course, Connection Groups are a major muscle group of the body of Christ. Believe or not, they’ve been around since the church was formed in Acts two, which you’ll read about on January 31, 2022 (that’s when we’ll be reading chapter 2 of the Book of Acts).

I am really looking forward to this year together in the WORD.  By the way, if you are willing to bring your Bible (printed or digital) with you each Sunday, starting September 12, I promise you, I will invite you to open your Bible with me each week during the message.

Photographer needed

Are you gifted with a digital camera?  Faith Lutheran School is looking for a photographer to capture high-quality digital photos of our school in action: Kids, teachers, classrooms, etc.  Please call (770-973-8877) or email Janice Schaag  or Susie Glass if you are interested and able to help.
Hope's Happenings

Are you a "people person?"  Do you like speaking with people to cheer them up and to brighten their day?  If so, you would make a great "Ministry Partner" in Faith's Comfort Dog Ministry.  We are looking for people who would like to accompany Hope and one of her handlers once a month for a few hours as we show compassion and the love of Jesus to people who are in nursing homes, memory care centers, who are shut-ins and folks who would just love a "fur fix" from our lovable furry girl!

Please contact Peter Amelingmeier (armormaker@comcast.net or cell: 770-876-4292).  We'd love to have you join our ministry.
Please continue to submit your requests for a Zoom visit via the following methods:
  1. Complete the ‘Hope Comfort Dog Request’ form via this link: https://forms.gle/8oknB7haY7VLGgtE9.  When a request is submitted, the information is sent directly to my organizer’s phone.
  2. Call the church office at (770) 973-8877 to set up a visit.  Janice Schaag and Susie Glass are excellent sources for getting this information to my group.

Have a used tablet?

Are you enjoying that new tablet you got recently (or maybe not so recently)?  What's your old one doing?  Would it like to come help out in our Kids Club program?  We are looking for a few used tablets (although we wouldn't refuse a new one ...), still in working order with a working wifi connection, to be used when checking students out of Kids Club in the afternoons. For more info or to donate an old tablet, please contact Becca Ford at Becca.Ford@FaithMarietta.org. Thank you for considering this great recycling opportunity!

Exciting things to come!!!!

Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner?! I love this time of the year and am always so excited when I see how much our church enjoys sharing with less fortunate families. This year there will be multiple ways to share beginning in
October!

We will be putting shoe boxes together for OPERATION
CHRISTMAS CHILD! I should have all the supplies to begin handing out the first week of October and I will let know the ship date as we get closer.

In November we will be putting together Thanksgiving Food Baskets which has always been such a huge success!

In December we will have a Christmas food drive as well as a toy collection! We are also always thankful for socks, gloves, and hat donations. Be on the lookout!

Don't forget to pick up GREEN bananas on Saturday!!!

GREEN BANANA SUNDAY is finally here! -

Sunday August 29th we are asking for the congregation to bring the greenest bananas they can find to be delivered to the food pantry on Tuesday, Aug. 31st. Saturday when you are out doing your shopping, pick up an extra bunch of green bananas and bring them to church with you on Sunday morning!
