Good Morning! AKNWRC wanted to let you know about a opportunity from the Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples. They are requesting proposals to Thriving Women, for Indigenous Women-led projects working to address, prevent, and remedy violence against Native Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives. Thriving Women supports grassroots, Indigenous Women-led initiatives that restore community wellness, amplify Native Women's leadership, and reclaim a world without violence against Women. The Application deadline is Friday, October 15, 2021.

Request for Proposals: Reclaiming A World Without Violence Against Women

The Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples invites proposals to our Thriving Women Program. Eligible projects for support are Indigenous community-organized, Women-led, and

responding to gender-based violence against Native Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives. Thriving Women funds grassroots projects working to restore community wellness by empowering Indigenous Women-led work to remedy and prevent violence against Women and Girls; nurturing healthy and thriving Native Peoples and families.

Projects may Include:

● Culturally relevant trauma support and healing methods for survivors and families

● Frontline land defense against extractive industries and man camps

● Rescue and response for survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, and domestic violence

● Empowerment through self-defense training and consent advocacy

● Providing emergency shelter and transportation

● Data sovereignty initiatives for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

● Addressing and preventing gender/sexuality-based discrimination and hate crimes

Grant Award Range:

➔ $30,000 - $50,000 for U.S. & territories, with a limited number of transnational grants

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Projects originate from and are led by the Indigenous Peoples served and who are most impacted by the issues, methods, and outcomes;

2. Focused on community organizing strategies centered in the culture and values of the community served;

3. Leadership/Board of Directors is comprised of 80% or more Indigenous women, and has an Indigenous woman leader/Executive Director

4. Non-profit certification with 501(c)3 tax-exempt status, or fiscally-sponsored, or

tribally-chartered;

5. Be in good standing with the Seventh Generation Fund.
