Summer has shot by insanely quickly; I can’t believe we’re almost entering fall 2021! I’ve been keeping my head down working like crazy, so no major news to report from Sebastichusetts. Instead I’ll update you on a few projects going on right now:

Secrets of Blackthorn Hall is here!

To catch you up: Secrets of Blackthorn Hall is a serialized story in which Emma and Julian of The Dark Artifices move temporarily to London to fix up the crumbling Blackthorn Hall … only to find that among the various objects that belonged to their ancestors, there might be a spectral presence that wishes them harm . . . the story features characters from The Last Hours, The Infernal Devices, and The Dark Artifices, and it takes place about halfway between the events in Queen of Air and Darkness and the beginning of The Wicked Powers. You don’t need to have read all the books in every series to enjoy it, though there will be Easter eggs for those who have. Posts will go up every Monday, aside from holiday breaks, from August 16, 2021 to August of 2022. There are several posts up now, go check them out here!

I’ve been working with LitJoy on a really gorgeous collection, and they just opened pre-orders on August 19th! I’m so psyched to show you some photos of what they’ve got. First, a beautiful box set of all six Mortal Instruments books — the box itself is designed to look like the Institute, with doors that open to reveal the books themselves.

The talented Carlos Quevedo illustrated some beloved and significant characters — some Shadowhunters and some Downworlders — on the back covers of each book, with symbols representing their alliances/species on the front. For example, City of Ashes features the vampire star on the front and everyone’s favorite grumpy vampire, Rafael Santiago on the back, while City of Fallen Angels features faerie arrows on the cover and the Seelie Queen, looking evil and beautiful on the back!

The amazing Arz28 has made us another postcard, this one from the Devil’s Tavern featuring the Merry Thieves and of course, Oscar. And a seriously weird-looking demon threatening our crew in the distance.

Reginald escaped from the house through the screen door (!!!) and considered a dip in the hot tub! Luckily he was retrieved before he could settle in with an umbrella drink.
