dean
update.

Trikafta the latest CF med on the market, was recently approved for those ages 6-11. We had to decide to let it go or try it after a not so great experience with its predecessor. Dean's CF doc helped us make the decision to try it out on Dean. I won't lie, it took a lot of reading and prayer and conversations to get us comfy and 5 weeks after starting it, his liver enzymes are elevating again so all I can do is ask for prayers at this point. We are hoping we can destress the liver a bit at the same time but not sure how that will look just yet. (For anyone interested in learning how Trikafta works, here is a video).

If you ask Dean how he feels, he will say amazing (as usual)!  He's keeping busy with sports and will start 6th grade this week. Football and Cross-country are going on now; he ran his first mile in about 7:25 and played corner back last weekend.  A pulled quad will temporarily slow him down this week but he is determined to recover and get back out there!

fundraisers.

If you're looking for some fun, we will be running a pool to see when Justin Fields will see the field...Get in soon, only 42 spots available!

WHEN WILL FIELDS SEE THE FIELD?
A Chicago Bears related fundraiser :)

We all know it’s just a matter of time before Justin Fields is taking over for Dalton, whether it be bad play or other reasons so let’s have fun with it. For $20, you will have a 1 in 42 Chance of splitting the pot.

🏆 Winner is whoever holds the spot corresponding to when Justin Fields gets his 1st snap in a Regular Season Bears Game 🏆

Spots are randomly chosen after we sell out and allocated as:
Prior to Game 1 Starter,
then every quarter for games 1-10,
and then finally one ticket for after game 10.

Fine print...If we do not sell out, the next quarter closest that has not already passed, wins.
How to join:
  1. Fill out the short form here.
  2. First 42 people to respond will receive a message on how to pay for the ticket (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal).
  3. After all payments are received, we will randomly allocate the slots and you will be notified.
As always, thank you for your support as we continue to raise money for a cure for CF!

CF CYCLE FOR LIFE
We will never give up raising money for CF until a cure is found.  Jim is taking on another 65 mile ride to raise money for the CF Foundation!  He will ride a route equal to 65 or more miles in the hopes of raising both awareness and funds for CF.  A tax-deductible donation can be made here.

p.s.- we hope to bring the Chillin' & Grillin' for a Cure back in 2022.

thank you.

Hickory Creek Middle School hosted a CF Walk this year and continued to help raise money for the CFF; we are forever grateful for their continued help and super excited one of the alum painted a great life-size outline of Dean - thank you Ava - which the kids decorated with words for Dean!  The school stresses not only how they can help (by donating money) but why we help those in need. This simple exercise of sending positive messages and words of encouragement to Dean warms our hearts.

Peace Community Preschool & Town Center Bank hosted another Dimes for Dean collection this year! They not only filled up piggy banks of coins but also sent cards and letters to Dean. This is one of my favorite fundraisers each year and a perfect example of Proverbs 22:6 in action.

Congrats to the Bridges of Mokena subdivision with back to back championships at the Annual Frankfort Subdivision Charity Softball Challenge!  Again this year, they donated the winnings to the CFF in honor of Dean and we couldn't be more thankful for this awesome team of players, friends and Dean's buddies. Nice job team and thank you for standing behind Dean in this fight!
