Hello, everyone!

The next Birds in Toyland class begins September 9! I've taught the class to three groups of students and it is getting rave reviews. The class includes the pattern, video lessons that show you in detail how to applique the blocks using wool or needle turn hand appliqué, and 4 LIVE meetings. These fun and friendly meetings are recorded and become part of your class.

Birds in Toyland (shown at the bottom of the newsletter) has 13 applique blocks, a string of Christmas lights border, all set together with pieced blocks.

Now is a great time to start a holiday quilt that is sure to make you smile :-). I would love to see in you in class! Click here to find more information and sign up for Birds in Toyland, Group #4!
Last week in Time Out I shared ideas on how to use fabric that can be really hard to cut into. Watch this and then let the cutting—and sewing—begin!

Today, 8/25/2021, at 2PM CDT I will let you know what it was like to travel—on planes!—to NYC. If the idea of travel right now makes you nervous, this might help.

"Time Out" Links & Notions

Livingston Mugs!

We have new mugs, designed just for Piece O' Cake, coming soon from our favorite potter, Rebecca! She is going to pick up the (very few) mugs we have now and take them on to her shows. So if you love fall colors, this is the last call for these beautiful hand thrown, hand glazed mugs.
Or use this link: https://youtu.be/my-XZpvBJmc
The last blue/green mug in this video is gone, sorry!
These mugs hold 12oz to 16oz. The smaller ones are not that small :-).

In support of artists...

We love being able to offer handcrafted items and, at the same time, support the artists who make them. We keep these mugs accessible by only adding enough to cover special handling/shipping costs. (The same is true for the Handcrafted Sewing Boxes made by Jacquie Klassen.)

Wednesday Giveaway

With another school year starting, supplies are on our minds - notebooks, construction paper, glue, pencils, erasers.... Wait a minute! Erasers! That reminds me of our giveaway this week: SEWLINE AQUA ERASER PEN! (FYI: I loaded my pen with a stain remover rather than water!)

Click here to go to my blog, and leave a comment/reply on the blog post to enter the drawing. A winner will be chosen by the random number generator tomorrow.
