DPLH, DMIRS & DWER Request for Extractive Industry Information

As part of a joint agency project to develop an inventory of information with respect to extractive industry licences (EILs)/DAs for Basic Raw Materials, information is sought on active EILs/DAs. 

Updated Land Use Compatibility for Public Drinking Water Source Areas

DWER has updated its Policy and Water Quality Protection Note 25 which coincide with public consultation on State Planning Policy 2.9.

Local Government Building Surveyors Working Group August Meetings

Officers were again joined by representatives of DFES, to discuss matters including NCC fire separation and performance solution requirements.

Consultation now open on inclusion of energy efficiency provisions in National Construction Code 2022

WALGA Updates

Environmentally Sustainable Design for Buildings August Workshop

Local Government officers attended our second workshop in August to continue discussions exploring how Local Governments can achieve environmentally sustainable built form. Find out more

Urban Forest Working Group (UFWG) Meetings

Our Tree Retention and Tree Purchasing Sub-Committees each met in August to progress strategic priorities of the UFWG. Our Tree Masterclass and Tree Purchasing Sub-Committees meet in September. To find out more or get involved contact Ruby.

Meet our Team

The newest member of our team, Ruby Pettit has joined us from the Town of Victoria Park. Current projects include putting together our Planning Showcase and working alongside the Environment team to progress strategic priorities of the Urban Forest Working Group. 

Advocacy on Planning Fees & Charges

In August WALGA met with the Minister Saffioti's office, again raising concerns with the stagnation in rates chargeable under the 2009 Planning Regulations and its impact on Local Government resourcing. Engagement with DPLH on this issue is ongoing.
