Bogd Khan Railway construction launched
Construction of the Bogd Khan Railway was inaugurated on Monday. The government plans to finish construction within three years.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene said that the Bogd Khan Railway will not only increase the competitiveness of Mongolia's infrastructure, transport, and logistics, but also help to decentralize Ulaanbaatar by creating new satellite cities in Tuv Province and reducing road congestion. The railway will also contribute to development in Khushigt Valley and development of the Tuv Province center.
Government officials believe that increasing the participation and competitiveness of Ulaanbaatar’s railway transport will contribute to the development of the economic corridor connecting Mongolia to its neighboring countries, and other Asian and European regions.
