Edmonton Airport Continues International Expansion

Combined advocacy efforts are yielding results in the continued expansion for international access through the Edmonton International Airport (EIA). Along with Edmonton Global and EIA, your Chamber advocated for the creation of the Edmonton Airport Air-Services Opportunities Fund, which has now raised $15M in support of new direct US and international routes.

In addition to this supportive funding, new routes have been added into the EIA's repertoire, including four non-stop US destinations through Flair Airlines. Along with these new routes, Flair will base an aircraft and flight crew in our city, resulting in approximately 50 new jobs.

European and global access
EIA is also rebuilding their international air service with the return of a major European air carrier, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. With new flights servicing to Amsterdam twice a week, the EIA is thrilled to welcome a much-needed connection for business, tourism and travellers through its terminals.
