Weekly Highlights:

Jubilee Sunday, August 29!

Services at 9 & 11 a.m.

Both services are in person, COVID precautions in effect. Both services also live streamed.

After both services: Plymouth member Bill DeMarco will perform outside and ice cream will be served!
Nursery Care Suspended
In order to protect our youngest congregants, Plymouth Nursery will be closed until COVID numbers are greatly improved, or children can be vaccinated. Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship. (And feel free to bring children to the Fellowship Hall if they need to stretch their legs or their lungs.)
Music Minute. Dir. of Music Mark Heiskanen writes a Music Minute previewing the upcoming Sunday's musical offerings and occasionally opines on other music-related topics.

Haiti Relief 2021

Haiti has been hit by two natural disasters in the last two weeks, an earthquake and a tropical storm. We can help! Please give to the UCC $100,000 Appeal for Haiti! You can give online at plymouthucc.org/give (choose fund "Haiti Relief 2021"). You can also put a check or cash in the blue pew envelope into the Sunday offering plate. Please put Haiti Relief on memo line of check or on blue pew envelope if cash. Many, many thanks for reaching out to help God's people in our neighboring country.
Have you been wondering how to get more involved at Plymouth? Worship-related service opportunities range from zero preparation to "training provided." Plus, you'll meet some friendly, welcoming Plymouth folks. Donate flowers or be a greeter... a liturgist... an audio volunteer... or even a deacon. Learn more/sign up using the purple button below (plymouthucc.org/signup).

Christian Formation for Children
I'm praying back-to-school has been good for your family. Back to Sunday School will come as well. It will REALLY help our new director if she knows how many kids she has of each age and it is important to have UPDATED info. Emergencies do happen. A computer will be available on the patio after church if you prefer to sign up on Sunday. But you can do it right now and save yourself the trouble!
Nursery suspended during COVID. See full notice near the top of this email, or visit plymouthucc.org/nursery.

P.S. This is Tricia's last Sunday with us as interim Dir. of Christian Formation for Children! Stay tuned for a chance to say thank you to Tricia in September.
Christian Formation for Adults

Wednesday evening book study (7 pm Sept. 8-29 on Zoom) Charnley Marsden (Rev. Ron Patterson's spouse) will lead a study of Ibram X. Kendi's How to Be An Antiracist, a New York Times bestseller and a groundbreaking approach to understanding and uprooting racism and inequality in our society--and in ourselves.

Ongoing Opportunities

Would you like to get outside regularly and help to beautify Plymouth?

Do you have a green thumb (or know what a weed is)? The trustees are looking for a few folks to give us a hand with the flower beds this summer. We have divided the areas around church into manageable spaces. There is no planting or watering -- just keeping the weeds down. Sign up for the section you would like at tinyurl.com/plymouthgardens. Questions? Kathee Houser Thanks for your help.

Prayer Shawls

Do you know someone who would appreciate being wrapped in prayer, during good times or challenging times? The Prayer Shawl Ministry would love to share their needlework! Please contact Karen Guter to arrange one for yourself or someone you know.

Do you need financial assistance with groceries, rent or medication? We have some funds available to help. Contact one of your pastors.

Buy Equal Exchange Products + Support Our Youth

Greeting Cards for Women in Prison

We are once again gathering greeting cards for distribution to the women at the Denver Correctional Facility! The basket for cards is on the kitchen counter in Fellowship Hall next to the water fountain. You can refresh your memory of this project by reading the pamphlet in/near the basket. Questions? Please contact Mary Kay or Ron Graver.
Odds 'n' Ends
Fun Text, Desert Island Edition: you can bring ONE soup with you. Which one?

How did folks at Plymouth answer this question?

Automatic Parking Gates

The automatic parking gates are closed Monday-Saturday, to reduce through traffic and control parking. Use keypad code 0916# to open gates. The gate will stay open for 30 seconds, then close automatically while beeping. To exit, automatic sensors open gate. Contact Keith Schulz (970-556-3182) with questions.
