New how-to video series aims to save Leagues time

What's Alt Text, why is it important and how can you incorporate it into your social-media game for your League? We've got answers. And we're offering them in a new way – video. Leagues are run by volunteers. Volunteers need tools that can save them time. Video is one way to do this, and we hope to offer more of these in future. Let us know what you think.

Hybrid Meeting Help

As AGMs and other events approach, Leagues have questions

We've been getting lots of questions about running hybrid AGMs.Here's a very simple video we shared a few months back but want to flag for you again (link here).

The EFCL can support your meeting by providing the RingCentral platform and a staff member to help moderate your elections. At this time our hybrid support is limited, but email us and we'll do our best to support you.

Have you successfully run hybrid meetings? We'd love to hear about it. Please be in touch.

Time Capsules Are Cool

And you're helping us fill one

Leagues created the EFCL in 1921. One of our final ways to celebrate those 100 years will be an invite-only event in October that will feature us installing a time capsule. Leagues will create the memories we're going to save. How? Send us those memories using the form below. And be ready for the big event on October 2 – details coming soon.

Leagues and Municipal Elections

Moderators and maps to come

League members are city builders and passionate. But as Edmonton heads to the ballot box to elect its next mayor and council, all Leagues must be mindful that our activities must remain non-partisan.

Recently, the EFCL hosted its second 'Ask Me Anything' event with executive director Laura Cunningham-Shpeley. We were asked many tough questions and presented many difficult scenarios. We've developed resources to help answer these questions. We're now working on a map of all the all-candidate forums and help for Leagues looking to hire independent moderators.

New EFCL Resource Rolls Out

One of the EFCL's five strategic goals is to broaden the reach and diversity of Community Leagues. The participation of all strengthens the Community League movement.

We have created resources to support allyship and inclusion throughout the work Leagues and the EFCL does.

We respectfully acknowledge the land upon which the EFCL operates is located on Treaty 6 Territory and has served a purpose as a traditional meeting ground for many First Nations groups. This territory has provided a traveling route and home to the Nakoda Sioux, and later, Blackfoot and Cree peoples, followed by Saulteaux and Métis and other Indigenous peoples.
