This week, Volunteer Nelson celebrate Gordon and Ernie being valued team members. Gordon told the team “I can’t believe it has been 6 years. The great thing about working for Volunteer Nelson is that it is at the hub of the community sector, and you meet so many good people.” Congratulations Gordon and Ernie! It's so much fun working with you both!

Tips for Volunteer Management
|
|
Applications
Are you getting volunteer applications but not sure how to process them on Be Collective? Here's how to manage this!
If you have people applying, please let them know you have received their application and when you expect to get back to them. People wanting to volunteer are put off when they hear nothing from the organisation. If you are really pushed for time, consider if you can actually onboard and support volunteers at this time, and whether you need to pause applications and readvertise when you have time. To pause an opportunity on Be Collective which you can do via editing opportunities in the application - see this link for how to do this.
Need help with Be Collective?
Volunteer Nelson can be an administrator or your group so that we can easily assist, however, it is not necessary. To check your account, go to Manage settings in Manage Your Group (see images below). If Volunteer Nelson is currently an administrator, you will see us listed here. Please know that if Volunteer Nelson is an administrator, we have access to your whole group information, so you need to consider this. You can add or delete us anytime.

Recognising and celebrating Pacific unpaid work and volunteering |
|
One of the most exciting things on the volunteering research front this year has been the launch of an awesome report by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples – Pacific Economy Research Report on Unpaid Work and Volunteering in Aotearoa.
This report captures Pacific peoples’ insights on volunteering and unpaid productive work. Guided by Pacific research principles and methodologies, data was collected through focus groups, talanoa – discussion – and a survey.
Read more and access the research.
