The event is held in conjunction with the NYC Annual Equipment and Vehicle Show, which gives you a firsthand look at vehicles and equipment with alternative fuels and emissions reducing technologies. Due to COVID-19, this year our event will be held outside under the Unisphere in Flushing-Meadows Park.

Manhattan Beer Distributors Receive First All-Electric Volvo VNR Truck
|
|
On August 12th, ECC member Manhattan Beer Distributors unveiled its first of five Class-8 Volvo Trucks North America VNR electric trucks. The vehicle is the first full battery-electric Class-8 truck on the East Coast. Funded with help from the NYC Department of Transportation Clean Trucks Program, the truck joins Manhattan Beer Distributor's warehouse in the South Bronx, where company leadership is committed to reducing the company's environmental impact and doing their part to reduce local air pollution from diesel vehicle emissions.
Congratulations to all parties involved! We look forward to seeing more electric trucks in the Bronx and New York City.

Calling all downstate fuel users! Does your fleet use biofuel or biodiesel? If so, we'd love to speak with you!
Empire Clean Cities is working with the New York Corn and Soybean Growers Association to help promote upstate corn and soy production that helps feed biofuel stocks, as well as downstate biofuel users. If you're interested in participating and sharing your biofuel story, please contact Lidia Henderson, lidia@empirecleancities.org.

New York State Volkswagen Settlement Funds: Current Programs
|
|
Rebate incentive funding is now available for fleets and businesses in NYC Industrial Business Zones (IBZs) for the replacement of older, diesel-fueled trucks with alternative fuel or electric vehicle technologies. Funding available from $12,000 to $185,000 per truck replacement, depending on fuel type and truck class size.

*UPDATE: Funding has been exhausted for Class 8 PHEV, HEV, CNG, and Propane Vehicles*
NYTVIP provides vouchers to fleets across New York State for the replacement of older diesel vehicles with the purchase or lease of electric, conventional hybrid electric, compressed natural gas, or propane medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Voucher amounts are based on a percentage of the incremental cost of the vehicle.

"Volvo VNR Electric Makes its East Coast Debut"
Last week, ECC member Manhattan Beer Distributors announced their first of five Volvo Trucks North America’s VNR Electric trucks to join their fleet of 400 delivery vehicles. The vehicle is the first all-electric VNR truck on the East Coast, serving customers throughout New York City, Long Island, and upstate New York.

"USDA awards $26 million for higher-blend biofuel infrastructure"
Projects in 23 states across the nation will receive $26 million from the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program grant to install pumps, tanks, and other equipment for selling higher-blend biofuels. The projects are expected to expand the availability of higher-blend fuels by 822 million gallons annually.
