Communities In Schools of Mid-America is looking for volunteers to work at the upcoming Bo's Hog Wild event. Join us on Saturday, August 28, for an hour or two of work, and in return, you will receive an evening of good food, good times, and listening to good music!
We need volunteers to help with the morning Kidsfest as well as the evening Brewfest & BBQ. Volunteer opportunities begin at 8:00 AM and run through 9:30 PM.
Kidsfest occurs from 10:00 AM to Noon with activities like face painting, water balloons, petting zoo, obstacle course, Frisbee toss, and free lunch and t-shirt for the kids. There is no cost for kids or adults to attend this portion of the day.
The Brewfest and BBQ event begins at 4:30 PM and runs until 9:00 PM. This event includes two live bands, an all-you-can-eat BBQ, and drinks. Dinner and drink tickets are $35 but can be waived if you are volunteering to work a shift at the event (encourage your family or friends to volunteer or purchase a ticket to meet you there). Bo’s Hog Wild Brewfest and BBQ takes place on a farm just east of Highway 59 in Douglas County, 393 E 1400 Road, Baldwin City, KS. Throw a lawn/sling chair into your car before heading out to the festivities for your comfort!
