In my email last week announcing vaccine requirements in our 24/7 facilities, I told you we would provide an update today on further details regarding medical and religious exemptions for the vaccine. The vaccine requirement is impacting state employees across multiple agencies and so the State is creating a universal process for these exemptions. This cross-agency work is still in process and we hope to have it completed soon.  We have heard from some of you regarding this and that has helped inform our input into the discussions.

Please do NOT submit exemption forms right now as they will not be accepted. 

We are working urgently to get a consistent process in place with DOC, CDPHE, OIT and the Governor’s Office which will include updated forms. Regarding medical exemptions, you will need to connect with your provider for completion of the form. Depending on your provider, this may require an appointment. We understand your concerns about submitting your form in time — we will provide information as soon as possible with reasonable deadlines.

We commit to providing employees sufficient time to submit their exemption requests.
