Cardinal Careers Program Associate

The Cardinal Careers Program Associate is primarily responsible for supporting core administrative functions of the Cardinal Careers programs. They lead critical outreach and promotion efforts and advise students. 
Responsibilities:
  • Advise students on public service careers pathways, job and fellowship opportunities, and career planning.
  • Develop and facilitate orientation sessions and skill-building sessions for students seeking post-graduate public service fellowships and career development.
  • May develop marketing materials and strategies for Careers activities and outreach functions. Assist in planning and developing webinars, education fairs, and other external functions.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Basic analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Relevant computer systems/technology experience
  • Understanding of financial transactions
  • Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations
Preferred but not required:
  • Experience in a year-of service or service fellowship program such as AmeriCorps or PeaceCorps
  • Public service or related experience
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work some weekend and evening hours
  • Experience engaging with diverse student audiences (e.g. new students, diverse majors, Greek organizations, athletes, community centers, student groups, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Cardinal Service and Stanford student life

Cardinal Commitment Program Associate

The Cardinal Commitment Program Associate is primarily responsible for supporting core administrative functions of the Cardinal Commitment programs.  They lead critical outreach and promotion efforts and advise students.
Responsibilities:
  • Produce and curate digital content to engage users, increase user base, and grow the Haas Center for Public Service and Cardinal Service initiative channels.
  • Optimize content delivery strategies, build content topics, tailor content to outlet platform, target specific audiences, and make editorial decisions. This includes working with a peer advisor to produce the weekly Cardinal Service newsletter and grow the audience; submitting updates to other newsletters on campus (e.g. UAR); producing flyers to promote service opportunities at Stanford; assisting with maintenance of email lists and individual contact records, including for donors; and depending on other projects, possibly writing articles for central Stanford newsletters.
  • Develop marketing materials and strategies for Cardinal Commitment activities and outreach functions. Assist in planning and developing webinars, education fairs, and other external functions.

Cardinal Service Communications Associate
The Cardinal Service Communications Associate is primarily responsible for strategically advancing Cardinal Service's digital media efforts and storytelling
Responsibilities:
  • Advise students on a range of issues, including advising student service groups on policies, opportunities, and challenges associated with running a public service group.
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources including student feedback, surveys, trend reports, and data analytics. Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance public service programming and advising.
  • Develop marketing materials and strategies for Cardinal Commitment activities and outreach functions. Assist in planning and developing webinars, education fairs, and other external functions.

Qualifications:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build lasting relationships and strong communities; customer focus
  • Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, and current and future trends
  • An approach that is highly organized and creative
  • Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
Preferred but not required:
  • Public service or related experience
  • Flexible approach to fast-paced environment and willingness to work some weekend and evening hours
  • Knowledge of Cardinal Service and Stanford 
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Interest and/or experience in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion as integral to effective Communications
  • Experience working productively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Postgrads and CARD (Salesforce)
