It's time to move the Cumberland Church Building

You are Invited!

Date Change Alert: now Tuesday, September 28

Volunteers have been hard at work, removing steps, covering windows and cleaning out the basement. We're ready to move - and the date is set.
Our team put in over 200 hours of labor, supervised by Joel, Orton, Cumberland's vice president. These people deserve a round of applause and a big "Thank you!" for the time ad effort put in to making the building move ready.

We want to recognize them at the celebration on September 28 - and we hope YOU will be there, too!

  • The actual move will start about 8:00 a.m.

  • Projected transport will take 6-8 hours. There will be road closures and detours - check our website for more information.

  • We'll have a closing celebration at 6:30 in Habitat's ReStore parking lot, next door to the newly moved building.

Your help is still needed!

Moving the building will cost about $50 a foot. And the Cumberland church is being moved 1200 feet to its new home on Santiam and Pine.

Help Move the Cumberland

We can't say it enough: YOU are the reason for saving the Cumberland. It's more than preserving history. Together, we can restore a place for people to do life with family and friends. After all, that's what makes a HOME town. The Cumberland will be part of that, opening doors to sharing culture and making memories.
