Update from the Board

Dear <<First Name>>

Here is the latest update after the July and August Board meetings:

July Board Meeting

Here are the minutes of the July Board Meeting (the August minutes will be approved at the 21 September Board meeting). The minutes of previous meetings are available to members on request from the BWV Office Manager. Board Meetings are held online on the 3rd Tuesday of every month apart from December and January. You are most welcome to attend Board Meetings as a visitor. Arrangements to join the meeting can be made through the BWV Office Manager (admin@bushwalkingvictoria.org.au).

Correction: June Update

Last month I advised that Cheng Khoo was nominated to the Treasurer position by Koonung Bushwaking Club when in fact Cheng was nominated by Melbourne University and Alumni Bushwalkers. It is great to see some of our smaller clubs encouraging their members to join the BWV Board.

Major projects

BWV is currently executing three major projects. Two are funded by  Sport and Recreation Victoria's Together More Active (TMA) Program (Online Traning Resources  and Increasing Participation and Diversity in Bushwalking)  and the third is funded from member funds (New BWV Website and Member Management System).

New BWV Website

The new BWV website is nearing the testing and evaluation stage. We now need some help from clubs to:
~ Undertake user evaluation and provide feedback.
~ Provide high-quality photos of bushwalkers in action.
Ideally, images of bushwalkers enjoying each other's company in the bush, appropriately kitted out, walking in attractive background landscapes, etc. All forms of bushwalking included. Please send any images to admin@bushwalkingvictoria.org.au. and please ensure that all persons identifiable in an image have given their permission to use the image on the BWV website.

First Aid Training Subsidies to Clubs

Bushwalking Victoria subsidises the cost of First Aid training to club members who complete a recognised First Aid Certificate from member fees. The subsidy is $40 per member. If members volunteer for BSAR or BTAC, the subsidy is $50. Please note that the first-aid subsidy can not be applied to CPR training only. Here is the subsidy form

If you have any queries or requests please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards
