Screen Music Laboratory for Emerging Composers

The Scoring Retreat program is back and under a new name! This year's Screen Music Laboratory for Emerging Composers will be held online from October 18th to 21st and will provide emerging composers with the framework to stimulate their creativity in actual work situations with the company of two mentors (one film director and one screen composer). Banff Musicians in Residence - Jazz & Creative Music Fall 2021 Dates: Nov 1 - Dec 3,2021 Application deadline: Sept 15, 2021. This self-directed residency is an opportunity for musicians specializing in Jazz and Creative Music to work on their projects and career development in Banff Centre’s unparalleled mountain setting.

Along with the freedom to structure your time around the needs of your project, you will receive artistic inspiration and career advice from well-established faculty who will connect with participants during the program, both in person and online. The visiting artists come from all musical backgrounds, therefore over 3 weeks participants will have access to a range of artistic influences

2021 Professional Development Schedule

Applications for Artist Entrepreneur, Artist Manager and AE West (the latter offered in partnership with the National Music Centre) are now open. All CMI programs are designed to help emerging artists and artist managers, across all genres, build their careers and businesses through customized mentorship. Artists and managers will work with CMI’s team of mentors to develop their craft, business and confidence in the areas of revenue development, marketing, social media, publicity, streaming, radio promotion, royalty collection, touring, funding, team building, contracts, and more. Artists will also experience a series of customized creative workshops, including live performance, vocals coaching and songwriting collaborations.    +++ info >
