Identity Theft

by Marsha, Friends & Family Director

Most of us have heard the phrase (or perhaps said it ourselves), “That’s just who I am.” That is a common reply used by people who feel that their sexual identity is being challenged.  Others of us use it, too, especially when we are being challenged to change something in our lives that we either perceive as too difficult to tackle or that we don’t really view as a problem.  Whatever the reason a person uses those words, they state that their identity is being called into question, a core part of who they are that cannot change.

Identity labels are a part of the LGBTQI+ world but are also a part of the struggles that everyone faces. Whatever label we adopt is an attempt to define ourselves, but God has already given each of us an identity.  In the first book of the Bible, we are told that God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness,” Gen. 1:26.  That is a high status given to us just by being human and created by God.   We are all bearers of His image.  Christians are given additional stature and identity as God’s children.  When a person adopts a label or identity outside God’s Word, whether benign as “I’m a dad/mom/teacher/employee,” or a more demeaning or (continuing reading here)

The Crucible of Criticism
Brings Others to Christ

by Ricky Chelette, Executive Director

Over the last several weeks, there have been scores of articles, blogs, and various media talking about Living Hope Ministries and the work we do. Honestly, most of those who write about us know nothing of what we do, and only one reporter has ever contacted me to check any facts. The articles have not been flattering.

I've had several people who were once a part of this ministry, asked for our help, received our support for free, applauded and praised the ministry, now vilify the ministry and me as damaging and harmful, even dangerous. Their recollections of events either never happened or are so skewed, they bear no resemblance to reality.

Even worse, these individuals are people who I care about deeply. They were, I thought, my friends.

I have always believed criticism is an opportunity for evaluation and change, and I take it seriously.  I've prayed, searched my memory, reviewed my practices, and carefully (continue reading here)

LHM Annual Fundraising Celebration Banquet

We all ask ourselves the questions, Am I…

           Man enough?
           Woman enough?
           Good enough?
           Strong enough?
           Spiritual enough?
           Faithful enough?

The answer is simple:  NO!  That is exactly why we need a Savior.  We cannot be enough but JESUS IS ENOUGH!

Jesus has done what we could not do to free us from the shackles
of our sin and transform our hearts and lives.

Join us on November 6th, 7:00 pm in the Great Hall of
Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, TX.

However, your financial support is critical to continue our ministry. When you give through North Texas Giving Day your gifts are multiplied!! Please prayerfully consider how can support the international work of LHM as we journey with those seeking sexual and relational wholeness through a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
