What's the most important work you do? Think about that for a minute.

Now think about how it would feel to spend 2 hours a week for 9 weeks working on emergency preparedness, neighbor connectedness, water savings, energy efficiency, and the overall health, safety, and happiness of your household and your neighborhood. Pretty darn rewarding, right?!

Petaluma is in the running for an innovative new ONE MILLION DOLLAR grant called the Cool City Challenge, and WE ARE SO CLOSE!

The momentum and enthusiasm is incredible but we need a few more Cool Block Leaders to step up and be ready to do the work in 2022.

PLEASE ATTEND the Information Session FRIDAY 8/27 at Noon on Zoom.
I will be Patrick Carter's co-host and would love to see you there! Can't make it? No problem. There are lots more to choose from. (I'm also the co-host Sunday at 4:00 and Monday at 5:30 ;)

RSVP for this or another upcoming session at aqus.com/cool to get the Zoom link.

What's this all about?

It is obvious that the climate crisis is here now and requires us to stop sticking our heads in the sand. It's time to get to work! But what can we do? That has been the question on our minds for a long time.

The Cool City Challenge helps us answer this in a very personal and tangible way. This is a community-based program that focuses on building up our social networks to help neighborhoods become more planet-friendly, disaster-resilient, and community-rich. This grant encourages residents to get involved by offering $1,000,000 in funding to those cities who can show they have ample community support to achieve major collective action. To do this, Petaluma needs to sign up 200 Cool Block Leaders by September 7th.

Want to know more about the Cool City Challenge before you commit to another Zoom call? Watch this 7-minute video.

Let's lead the way to a safe, inclusive, regenerative future for ourselves, our families, and our community.

Ask not what your City can do for you, but what you can do for your City.

With much hope and gratitude,

Natasha
