Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! As many of you plan to return to campus this weekend in advance of the first day of classes on Aug. 30, we wanted to share reminders about campus access requirements with you.

Because the Colorado College community has a high rate of vaccination, most classes, activities, and work are being conducted in person. To help ensure that we are keeping our campus community as safe as possible, we are requiring periodic COVID-19 testing and limiting access to buildings on campus.

Required COVID Vaccination Documentation
For the 2021-2022 academic year, Colorado College is requiring all students, faculty, and staff who are accessing campus for the 2021-22 academic year to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or to submit a claim for exemption. The deadline for this was August 1. If you have not already done so, Submit Your Vaccination Paperwork Right Now. Please be aware that you will not be able to move into campus housing or access campus buildings if you do not complete this important task. You can find all the information about this requirement, as well as how to submit your documentation on the CC Immunization and Health Documentation website.

COVID-19 Testing Expectations for Students
ALL students will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival to campus for the academic year in addition to participating in the following:
  • All students are required to participate in ongoing COVID-19 testing.
    • Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated students will be tested twice weekly.
    • A percentage of fully vaccinated students will be tested each week; the frequency of testing for those fully vaccinated will be adjusted as the situation demands.
    • Students will be notified via email when they are called to participate in weekly testing, which is a requirement to retain campus access.
  • All students are expected to cooperate with CC and county contact tracers.
    • Unvaccinated students will need to quarantine for 10 days if identified as a close contact of a person who has COVID-19.
    • Those who receive a positive test result will be asked to isolate and CC will provide isolation rooms to students as needed.
View additional important information for students arriving on campus on the Residential Experience website and our risk mitigation protocols. Students can schedule a COVID-19 test at the Student Health Center Scheduling Page

Student Access to Buildings on Campus
ALL BUILDINGS will require key card access now and are only accessible during building hours; students do not have 24/7 access to any campus spaces other than their residence hall. Until students have completed the following requirements, they will only have limited campus access to Worner Campus Center and their residence hall:
  • Submitted vaccination paperwork via Summit and had it verified by campus.
  • Completed arrival testing on move-in day (required for on and off-campus students).
  • If they are not fully vaccinated, followed enhanced social distancing for seven days after move-in and completed a second arrival test seven days after their first.
  • Scheduled and completed ongoing COVID-19 testing upon each invitation.
  • Abided by the Pathfinder and Campus Risk Mitigation Protocols.
Once students have completed their arrival COVID test, there will be a several-hour delay in the processing and granting of additional building and campus access, as the upload process is manual. Should students have continuing card access issues, they should reference the information in the 2021-2022 safe return to campus course, which explains in detail the requirements for campus access and directs them to how to address/fix access issues. Additional questions can be directed to dooraccess@coloradocollege.edu.

Have a great academic year!
