Moving into Fall!

 
Well, in so many ways, this is a weird time we are living in with so many uncertainties. The one thing I do know is, we will stay forever fit. It's the how and where that keeps us guessing : )
 
Latest Changes to the Provincial Health Orders

As things stand now, outside classes can continue status quo. Inside classes will also continue, staying with smaller numbers with respect to the space I have. 

However, there is a new mandate: 
According to the PHO,

As of Sept. 13, in order to attend an indoor fitness center, we must have at least 1 vaccination.

By Oct. 24th, we must be double vaccinated. This applies to our studio. My fitness business is mandated by BCRPA. Here is my official notice if you would like to read it.  

As par norm please continue to;
  • Keep the windows and/or door open
  • Sanitize before entering and again upon leaving the studio
  • Mask on when moving around the studio, off when settled in one place/mat and exercising.
  • You are not required to wear a mask while exercising.

If I don't hear from you before a session starts, you are not on the list. We need  a minimum of 5 to run a class... if I don't hear from 5 members who want to join, I have to cancel the class. So always let me know as soon as you can if you want your class to be there : )

A fun but challenging interval format, alternating high/low‐intensity cardio & resistance training for a total body workout on this awesome cushioned surface.

Join a fabulous group of women for 30 minutes of Somatics and Melt then 20 minutes of resistance training to build essential muscle mass for bone density, strength, balance & a metabolic boost, burn more fat, 10 mins of recovery

R&R offers  a series of gentle release techniques to improve postural alignment, reduce pain, increase mobility and stability. Reduce or even eliminate back, hip, knee and neck pain. Improve your balance for all the activities in your life.

Group Personal Training

We can still train as a small group. We just need to do it safely. That means outdoors with space. It's still personal training,  you still have your own individualized program and you still get me as your trainer, you just share me with your training partners. 
Let me know if you have a group or are looking for a group. Max 4 participants.

Squats at the beach?! You bet! There is more than one way to get fit aaand keep it interesting ; ) We can also do personal training indoors. Let's assess your needs, and find an exercise program that works for you. I will help you set realistic goals, provide feedback, offer strategies and accountability. Call me and we will find something that works best for you?

Melt for Feet, Knees, Hips 
Melt is a simple self treatment technique to help Improve range of motion, balance, mobility, stability. It can reduce/eliminate pain by rehydrating the connective tissue in the entire body. This 90 min session will introduce you to some of the melt method techniques. Melt may change your life, as it has mine. Reduce/eliminate pain, trigger finger, plantar fasciitis. Increase balance, stability, strength. Improve digestion and elimination issues.
The benefits are immediate and cumulative.

Nordic Walking Clinic
Nordic Walking is the dry land version of Nordic Skiing. Using your upper and lower body for walking means you burn more calories & more body fat than walking.
Using your upper and lower body muscles for Nordic Walking means we use more than 90% of our body's total muscle mass which means we build more muscle mass for burning calories and body fat, not to mention muscle tone... while we walk walk!

The Great Canadian Walk/Run Challenge!


Well I certainly am not making my lofty goal of, 2021K for the 2021 year but I am still trying. I am still getting as much walking time in as I can. Even if it means a few laps around the track before Bootcamp. I know that, it all adds up. Anyone else still working at it?  I am always looking for someone to walk with, let me know if you need a partner. Or.... join us on Mondays at 9:30am. Jen, Betty and I would love more of you walkers to join us :) 
Studio News
Welcome back to Annie! Annie had a knee replacement 5 weeks ago and she already has full range of motion back. She only missed 1.5 weeks. Her physio says her progress is due to her pre surgery work with Melt and Somatic and strength training. We, who know Annie, are not a surprised. Annie is one of our most dedicated Forever Fit members. 
Jackie had hand surgery for carpal tunnel a couple weeks ago. Her splint is off and she is healing well. Her splint is off, and she is waiting for the wound to heal. I am hoping she will be back in the game next month. We miss you and are looking forward to having you back soon Jackie :)

Clean Eating Fajita Steak Soup

Warming things up for fall. Fajita steak soup - is a Mexican-inspired soup that’s easy, delicious aaand loaded in nutrition! It is a balanced meal in itself because there is a good amount of protein, low carbohydrate option and loads of veggies. Low fat, no sugar, home prepared real food - Clean Eating ... recipe here

My new favorite snack... meal... indulgence. The ingredients are "clean". The Gluten free version has no crap, a hint of sugar(2), a good source of fibre, protein (4) and carbohydrates(5) 4 of these would be the equivelant to 1 slice of bread but the bread has less/no protien. So... 4 of these would create a balanced meal. Add veggies (veggie antipasto)and you are good to go for any meal :)
