BACK TO SCHOOL .....
Quite normal for us, but a dream for many children in Kyrgyzstan. Children who live on a few m2 in the deprived areas of the capital Bishkek, who have to miss their father and/or mother, often work for a living, have no access to school without an identity card and are not entitled to social benefits. The Elnura Foundation stands up for these children in close collaboration with the social organization Center for the Protection of Children (CPC) in Bishkek.

An important part of the guidance of these children is making it possible to go to school. To illustrate, just two children from our program “All children to school!”

Aidana (9 years old) lives with her grandmother, along with an older brother. During the corona lockdown, Aidana had to attend classes at the neighbors for lack of her own TV or smartphone. She received a new phone from the project of the Elnura Foundation/Wild Geese, with which the family could follow the online lessons and the CPC training courses at home. Aidana's parents are divorced. Neither father nor mother care about their children. Aidana had a hard time with the online classes at first, but she is a diligent and smart girl and will start in grade 3 in September.

Eldar (11 years old) joined the CPC program in July 2017. He lives with his grandmother and two younger brothers. His father has left the family. His mother recently passed away. Grandma has a small pension and works as a cleaning lady. The largest part of the total monthly income goes to room rent. Eldar is a calm and neat boy, who misses his parents very much. He has attended several training courses at Center for the Protection of Children. He starts the new school year in grade 6.

There are still many children like Aidana and Eldar who dream of going to school. You can make that dream come true and “financially adopt” a child, but a one-time donation is also more than welcome. In the past school year, 16 children were financially adopted and 23 children were able to go to school from the sum of one-time donations. How many children can go to school in the new school year?
