CDBG-CV Rural Economic Development Quick Guide Now Available

The CDBG-CV Rural Economic Development Quick Guide is a user-friendly tool that provides resources to help states and rural grantees support the more robust local economic development infrastructure needed for their COVID-19 pandemic recovery. As is the case under the traditional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Community Development Block Grant CARES Act (CDBG-CV) grantees can support economic development for COVID-19 recovery through special economic development and microenterprise assistance activities.

State administrators of the CDBG-CV program should design programs that support stronger and more resilient small business ecosystems in rural communities. This Guide describes and provides examples of:

  • Economic Development Needs of Rural Communities
  • Best Practices
  • Duplication of Benefits
