Dear Valued Service Provider,
You asked, we listened.
Over the past few months, we have sought service providers’ feedback about how we can better support you in your aged care role. We spoke with you in person during our last Regional Forum in May 2021, we heard your concerns during our Sector Support workshops, and we brainstormed your ideas from our recent Sector Needs survey. A common theme was access to affordable trainings and reliable information in all areas of aged care.
We know that many specialist organisations, government websites, and other platforms already provide what you are asking for, but these can be lost in the myriad of information available on the web. In response to your requests, we are very excited to announce the launch of your Aged Care Learning Library.
The Learning Library includes a curated selection of links to reports, tools and frameworks that will support your professional development in all areas of aged care. For example, we have selected a list of recognised resources to provide information about dementia, cultural competency, wellness and reablement, or rights-based approach to care.
Additionally, we have also included a range of online trainings in the same areas. We know the financial constraints that many service providers are facing, which is why we made the decision to only advertise trainings that are free or at a low cost.
In practice, this means that you will spend less time searching for, reviewing, and shortlisting resources from the internet, and more time learning and developing your skills. We envision the Learning Library to be your one-stop shop for aged care resources and trainings.
