Message from Managing Director Ken Cox:
Many thanks to all of the staff, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to making this a wonderful summer here at the CSA.  We were able to enjoy many of the traditional activities, creating new memories for the multiple generations that make up our Assembly family.  I wish all of you a safe and healthy fall, winter and spring and will look forward to seeing you back here next summer.  May the Lord Bless You and Keep You.  Ken

Message from Board of Trustees President Ed Allred:
As the sounds of summer fade away and our friends and families return to their distant homes, I hear the increased din of wildlife around the CSA grounds.  It is with a bit of melancholy that I reflect on how quickly time flies at The Lake.
What a great summer though! I am very pleased that it was a huge success here at the CSA.  While we didn’t have all of the traditional activities, we were able to do many that brought joy to youth and elderly alike.  We owe a great deal of thanks to the staff and the countless volunteers as they executed their responsibilities and the CSA’s programming flawlessly.  We also owe a lot of thanks to the participants of the events and gatherings, because being together is what makes our community thrive.
Over the next several months, the Board of Trustees and Committees will continue to work on the governance of the CSA to ensure that we have another wonderful summer with as many traditional, and some new, activities as possible.
I wish you all a safe and healthy future. I look forward to coming back next summer to enjoy more of the same.  Sincerely ~ Ed
On Saturday at 2:00 p.m. we will bring in the rafts and slide from the Crystal Lake swim area to rest on the beach until next summer. Rain date will be Sunday. All are welcome to lend a hand and enjoy being a part of this CSA tradition!

CSA Women’s Association Thanks all Volunteers for a Great Summer!

As the 2021 season draws to a close, the CSA Women’s Association Board wishes to thank the many volunteers, activity leaders, donors, and attendees who made the Women’s Association season so successful and fun. The highlight was the return of the annual Arts and Crafts Fair along with Cottage Treasures, the Silent Auction and the Treasure Trove. Together these events earned a record of just over $17,000!  Many people gave their all in preparation for this great success:  Barb Patterson and Margie Finley, the Co-Chairs of the overall event; retiring Cottage Treasures “Queens” (Beth Wolszon, Jan Wynne, Wanda Shreiner and Laurie Burns); committee chairs Laura Millar and Renee Fisk (Silent Auction), Lisa Dunphey and Beth Madden (Vendors), Jen Potter (Merchandise and Publicity) and Kathy Way and Jodie Ricklefs (Treasure Trove) plus many more.  Thank you also to those who volunteered the day of and to the office staff and grounds crew who lent many helping hands before, during and after the big day.
Fitness Classes, the Annual Meeting and a New Member Welcome Tea (thank you Cynnie Hood and Kate Kirkwood) drew nice participation, were fun, and continued to foster friendship, growth and connection in this beautiful community we share and love.
A special thank you goes to Nancy Gaffney and Mary Gruman for their leadership and creativity these past five years as they “retire” as co-chairs of the Women’s Association.  A thank you also goes to Lisa Dunphey who is stepping up to Co-Chair on the Women's Association Board with Ann Whelpton. In the coming month the WA Board looks forward to finalizing the make-up and roles of its Board members and identifying funding opportunities for CSA projects and community organizations.
Everyone is considered a “member” of the CSA Women’s Association - no application, sign-up or fee. Please follow up or contact me if you have ideas, questions or want a more active role.

Update on Operettas for 2022:

Children's Show: In Summer 2022 the children’s operetta will be “Cray Cray Day at the CSA.” The first rehearsal will be held on Monday, July 11. The show will be on Saturday, July 23 at the Meeting House.

Adult Show: The full Disney version of "Beauty and the Beast" will be on stage on Friday and Saturday, August 12 and 13, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at the Meeting House. Lead roles were assigned in summer of 2018 to allow cast members the opportunity to study their roles prior to the summer rehearsals. Auditions for chorus and small group parts will be held during the first rehearsal on Monday, August 1 at 1 p.m. at the Meeting House. Auditions are open to anyone entering ninth grade and older.  In addition to performers, those interested in assisting with costumes, sets and production are encouraged to attend the August 1 meeting. For those interested in performing in the chorus or small group parts, the piano accompaniment can be found here.

Between taking out the rafts in June and bringing them in in August our summer has been filled with joyful new experiences and old comforts, new friends and old pals, and the cheerful laughter of delighted children. We bid farewell to this summer, over too soon, happy for the memories and already looking forward to the next ones in 2022.
