This week We give thanks for ...we pray for ...
The people of Afghanistan and the continuing situation there
For a peaceful solution to be found.
For those who have lost homes and communities to the wildfires
The safety of those fighting the blazes.
For our care of God's global environment.
Bowl of Prayers
You are invited to place the names of those you would like prayed for into the 'Prayer Bowl' as you enter the Church. These people will be prayed for in confidence during the service.
The Prayer Bowl can also be used for prayers of thanksgiving or continued requests for prayer, as it is emptied each week. So please feel free to continue to put the same names or situations into it that are on your heart and mind.

Paths to prayer
Our next open session is on Sunday the 22nd August at 4pm
'Praying the Jesus Prayer' with Jennie Cappleman.
At St. Mary's church, a relaxed time followed by tea and cake
everybody should come and join in
Please pray this prayer during the distribution of Communion in the church if you are joining us online or are not receiving communion.
Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
for all the benefits you have given us,
for all the pains and insults
you have borne for us.
Since we cannot now receive you sacramentally,
We ask you to come spiritually into our hearts.
O most merciful redeemer,
friend and brother,
may we know you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
and follow you more nearly,
day by day. Amen.
