Dear friends in Christ, peace be with you, I hope you are well. I want to thank everyone who promoted and attended the Southeast Catechist Conference last week. We had 400 participants from our diocese register and I know there were several parish watch parties going on as well. I hope that your catechists were refreshed and inspired as they begin the new year.

 

Upcoming Ministry Professionals Gathering: The Call and Charisms of Ministry Leaders, September 2, 9:30am-2:30pm

Our first Ministry Professionals Gathering of the year is coming up on September 2 at San Pedro in Winter Park. As we start the new year, Deacon Dave Camous, our Director of the Permanent Diaconate, will lead this day to help us step into our role as ministry leaders, calling upon the gifts the Lord has given us to produce great fruit for the Kingdom. We invite you and anyone from your parish who is involved in ministry leadership to attend and start the ministry year off on the right foot.

Answer the Call – Retreats for Catechists, Liturgical Ministers, Volunteers, and all Catholics!
Our first Answer the Call retreat of the year is coming up on September 18, just one month from when this message goes out. This retreat is in the Northern Deanery at St. Mary of the Lakes, but of course it is open to anyone who wants to make the beautiful drive out to Lake County. The emphasis for all of these retreats will be helping your catechists and ministry volunteers to have an encounter with the Lord, deepen their existing love for God, and learn how to accompany others to a mature faith. We would love for everyone involved in your parish ministries to attend, as the call to missionary discipleship is for all baptized Catholics. Cost is $15.00 and lunch is included.
