Church-Wide Overnight Retreat 10/1-10/3
Come join us Friday evening after dinner, through Sunday lunch, for a church-wide retreat at the Incarnation Center in Deep River, CT with special guest speaker John Smed for "A Journey in Prayer: Learning How to Align Your Faith with Your Life in Prayer." A Time to Refresh. A Time to Rebuild. A Time to Regroup. A Time to ReFriend. A time to make new friends! All of our CPC family and friends, of all ages and demographics, are invited as we learn to “Journey in Prayer” together. There will also be opportunities for fellowship throughout the weekend to enjoy the outdoors (canoe, hike, etc.), or for indoor activities. More details and registration coming soon! Prior to the retreat, we encourage everyone to read Smed’s very short book “Journey in Prayer” (available on Amazon or coming soon to our CPC bookstore).

Mentor Applications Are Open for Bridges of Hope Tutoring Program This Fall: Bridges of Hope is looking for volunteers to serve as mentors for the 2021-22 school year.  Volunteers should be college-age or older and have a heart for kids from low-income families.  Because of the current make-up of our student population, there is a particular need for women who are available to serve from 5-7 pm on a Tuesday or Thursday night.  Mentors are assigned one student to work with all year. Duties include helping with homework, discussing a brief devotion, participating in recreational activities and building a relationship of trust.  Interested people can go to www.bridgesnewhaven.org and click on the link to fill out an initial application or email the director with any questions. Watch this video to learn more! BOH needs at least 10 more volunteers in order to offer two nights a week to the Quinnipiac families, ideally 20 more.
