All: to fill our hearts with strength!
One: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
*Opening Hymn “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” UMH # 127
Opening Prayer Kelly Barrett
God our strength, you have brought us into your holy place through Christ, who has the words of eternal life. As you made us alive by his flesh and blood, cause us to boldly witness to the gospel, welcome the stranger, and pursue peace, standing through the struggles of our times. Amen.
Hymn of Response “Lord of the Dance” UMH # 261 (vs 1,2,& 5)
Prayer of Confession
God of our redemption, we confess that we have not been faithful servants. We have not served you with sincere hearts nor trusted in your salvation. We have forsaken you, the living God, and have chosen to follow the lifeless idols of worldly power and wealth.
Forgive us our sin, O God. Lead us to heartfelt repentance that we may honor you with our lips and serve you with our lives; through our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Silent Confession
Declaration of Forgiveness
One: Hear the good news: Christ himself is the Word that offers eternal life to all who receive him. This proves his love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
All: Thanks be to God.
