PHNRC Volunteer Workday 8/22/2021
When: Sunday, August 22nd, 2021. 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Where: Prospect Heights Slough (See map below)
What: First stage of the Boardwalk Project - Reclaiming from the cattails.
It is going to be kind of wet and muddy but boy what great fun it will be! That's right, this Sunday we will be starting the first phase of the new board walk project. The board walk is the Eagle Scout project of regular volunteer Felix Weirich but the first phase is the task of replacing cattail with warrior sedges at the far end of the cattail infestation. The cattail have been cleared, herbicided, holes will be drilled and we will plant them.
Bring your high boots, long pants and a smile, you're going to need them all! Parking will be at PHNRC HQ located at 9 East Marion where we will all assemble and then head out to the site from there.

We will supply water, snacks, all tools, bug spray, gloves, instructions and supervision. Agnes will be doing a tour at the end if anyone is interested in knowing more!
