How do we support our nonprofit organizations in their missions, while feeding our own souls, in what has been a continuous struggle for funding and equity? The 2021 South Sound Philanthropy Summit will continue the discussions from 2020 with national experts in social justice, a South Sound panel, and a workshop style session.
With an incredible wealth of resources and an affordable ticket price, the only question is – why not attend the 2021 South Sound Philanthropy Summit?
Keynote Speakers:
Edgar Villanueva – nationally best-selling author of “Decolonizing Wealth”, and a globally-recognized expert on social justice philanthropy, and C'Ardiss “CC” Gardner Gleser – recognized nationally for her work with nonprofits focused on equity and is now based locally in Seattle.
Leave 10 Initiative Launch:
Over the next 10 years, $48.6 billion will transfer between generations.
Greater Tacoma Community Foundation’s 2020 “Transfer of Wealth Study” sets the stage for the Leave 10 South Sound Initiative. Join us for an overview on the Transfer of Wealth Data and its implication for your organization, an introduction to the Leave 10 South Sound Initiative and an opportunity to discuss in small affinity groups, how you could use the tools in the Leave 10 Tool Kit to advance your organization’s planned giving program.
Local, South Sound Panel:
We are excited to welcome moderator Matt Martinez of the On Being Foundation, George Zeno of Pacific Lutheran University, Maria Kolby-Wolfe of the Washington Women’s Foundation and Elena Pullen-Venema of the Community Foundation of Snohomish County.
Our diverse group of South Sound panelists will discuss how their quest for equity and social justice has informed how they fundraise, what trends they see for the South Sound area, and how the Leave 10 initiative works with their goals toward equity-focused planned giving.
