New drug-checking device to help save lives
We want to support and boost harm-reduction strategies and save lives with this new technology. It can help people identify what substances are in their drugs and, more importantly, how much of certain substances are present to prevent overdoses.

A toll-free eight-lane tunnel coming!
I'm excited for this new toll-free eight-lane immersed-tube tunnel which will be replacing the George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. It will have a dedicated lane for rapid bus, and a separate pathway for pedestrians and cyclists to make it more accessible.

Burnaby Family Life - FREE Family Summer Programs at the Park
Our family “learning together through play” programs in Burnaby’s beautiful parks continues to end of August.
You will enjoy an animated, fun-filled hour in the outdoors where children explore nature, learn about themselves and the world around them all through age-appropriate activities like storytelling, songs and rhymes, movement, and dance. This also provides parents and caregivers with an opportunity to meet other families, make new friends and learn about useful community resources. Programming is for children 0-6 years.

Get to know Anne's Constituency Assistant, Nick!
Nick was born in Taiwan and came to Canada at the age of 9. He grew up in Richmond and went to UBC to study science to become a dentist. Soon after, he realized his passion for environmental science which he really liked. Nick really enjoyed helping others and caring for larger community. He was the student society's Vice President for a couple of years where he realized advocacy work and community outreach were more of his passion rather than Health Sciences.
Like many other immigrants, his parents spoke their native tongue at home, this also helped him remember and keep his mother tongue (Mandarin and a bit of Cantonese including Taiwanese dialect).
He recommends visiting Garibaldi Provincial Park and Deep Cove especially if you like to hike and nice views. If you like star gazing, he suggests Sea to Sky area. Salt Spring Island is another place Nick likes to visit. He says the community is very tight and studio there is super amazing!
Fun Fact: He was known as the "Harry Potter wannabe" when he was younger because he had the same glasses, haircut, as well as a scar on his forehead.
