The Delta variant is making clear that remote work will continue for the foreseeable future. If you're like many people I've talked to, you’re wondering how you’ll continue to connect if remote work is going to stretch out even longer.

Personally, I'm happy to stay in this virtual state longer.

It's been so much easier and more efficient to conduct high-quality virtual learning experiences for our clients. In-person workshops give verbal processors - often extroverts - an advantage. A well-designed virtual workshop can create just as much, if not more, connection and intimacy as in-person sessions and in less time.

In a recent workshop we held, a CEO came back from a 5-min breakout session where she was discussing respect with a partner and said, ”I owe my partner some money. I just got some therapy.” I hear all the time from participants, “This just reminds me of how good it is to connect.” And “We haven't connected like this in a while. We need to do this more.”

Virtual meetings encourage us to be more intentional with how we spend our time in a way that we often take for granted when we're together in-person.

Here's a tip that works in any setting, virtual or in-person, work or personal: Ask a question that prompts reflection and curiosity about an otherwise ordinary aspect of their lives.

Here are some prompts we use often:
  • Who and what influenced how you think about respect?
  • Who and what influenced how you think about success?
  • What is something that people misunderstand about you?
Please try it and let us know how it turns out.

Indiegogo Campaign Update:
We’re using the surplus funds to invest in promoting the book more. Once we hit $21k, I’ll contract a software developer to improve the assessment tool experience. Because you’re investing in my expertise, I get to pay other entrepreneurs for their expertise. They all happen to be women of color too.

*Bonus*: We have 10 free spots for any campaign backer (new and old) to attend the 7 Forms of Respect™ workshop on Tues, Aug 31, 5-6:30 pm PST. Just email hnin@curiositybased.com
