August Monthly Round-Up

Tip of the Month

Laminate Don't Recreate!

As tour leaders, we have so many resources, photos, maps and visual aids that we use to help our guests have the best experiences. We often share resources with our groups, and they start to show their age as we continue on our travels. A cheap an effective way to maintain these through the terrors of touring (rain, heat, dirty hands) is to laminate them. Then tour after tour you can pull them out and use them without hesitation. They can be wiped off and sanitized very easily  This keeps these items looking fresh and new, and it keeps you looking like an ever ready professional!

Tour Leader News
Save the Date!!
The Washington, DC Familiarization trip is planned for February 25-27, 2022.  Please join us for a weekend of learning and fun.  We can't wait to see everyone!

As tours begin for the fall and the spring, there are questions surrounding COVID-19. Some of the most frequently asked questions are listed below:

1. Am I required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to lead a tour with Scholastica?
YES.  We are requiring all of our tour leaders to be vaccinated.  Please scan and email your vaccine card to nrice@scholasticatravel.com.

2.  Is a vaccine required to attend the FAM trip?
YES. We are gathering from all different states for this educational and fun weekend and we want to provide the most safe environment that we can.

3. Am I required to wear a mask while on tour?
Scholastica Travel will be following all CDC and local guidelines. At this time, masks are required for all motorcoach, train and airplane travel.  Therefore, if masks are required by federal or local guidelines, tour leaders should abide by those protocols.

4. What happens when a group starts to discuss possible cancellation or changes due to COVID-19?
We are working with our group leaders to encourage travel that their group feels is the most safe and appropriate for them.  When possible, we encourage groups to consider alternate destinations if they feel it is a better fit for them at this time. We continue to stand behind our COVID-19 cancellation policy which is 100% refunds minus non refundable deposits if cancellation is best for a group.

5. Is it appropriate to share my personal thoughts on vaccines or COVID-19 if asked on tour?
While opinions surrounding these topics are very popular conversation, as educational tour professionals it is important to continue to share facts about venues and sites. This topic should be looked at with the same lens as political opinions. Try to keep conversation focused around sites, historical facts, and fun!
