Monday 23rd August 2021
10.00am– 11.30am
Emmanuel Centre, Harrier Lane, Battle, TN33 0FL

Thank you for your support and patience with regards to Music for the Memory face-to-face return.  As a result, we feel we have a good plan that will allow us to try out a face-to-face session as well as operating Zoom.  We can then evaluate the situation for the following weeks.

Please put the above date in your diary as we have confirmed this as our trial face-to-face session for Music for the Memory at the Emmanuel Centre in Battle.  The details for attendance are below:

  1. Please Park and walk to the upper section of the centre where we will enter and exit.  Although there are some spaces immediately beside the upper door, these are limited so please let us know if you would like us to reserve one of these spaces due to necessity.
  2. On arrival, please hand your negative Lateral Flow result to the volunteer.  If you need advice re lateral flow tests, please contact us immediately.  It is a condition of entry that we must see evidence of a negative result.  Please do not attend if your result is either positive or inconclusive.  We will also ask you to use the hand sanitiser.
  3. A volunteer will escort you to either the refreshment area (refreshments will be served from 10.00 – 10.30), or your seat(s) in the main hall, where we ask you to remain throughout the session unless a visit to the toilet etc is required!
  4. Unless exempt, we ask that everyone wears a mask on entry to the building until they are seated and/or if they need to move around whilst inside the centre.
  5. We will keep an appropriate number of doors and windows open to allow air flow.
  6. Between 10.30 and 11.30 we will have our usual hour session of exercise, singing and quizzing.  We will try our best to stream live via Zoom as well.  We have never done this before and as the situation is quite challenging, we would appreciate your patience.
  7. At 11.30 we will finish our session, say goodbye to everyone and make sure that we all leave the building safely and with social distancing in mind.
  8. Finally, the section of the centre where we will be based will be cleaned beforehand and when everyone has left.  We will do our very best to make the 23rd a safe day but one of good fun

This all sounds very formal, but we can assure you that the session will be as fun and valuable as ever.  We are simply committed to ensuring your safety and confidence at the start of this new phase.

Please note:  The 23rd August will be our trial run and any decision re how we operate our sessions after that will be made after this date.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all on Monday 23rd August whether it is online or in person.  If you have any queries before the day, please contact us at your earliest convenience and we will happily do what we can to help.
In the meantime we will see everyone as normal on zoom on Monday 16th – same time, same place!!
Kind regards
The Music for the Memory team!
