Beginner Guitar 1 classes will meet each week for the full term of the school year and be taught by Ms. Crystal. The first semester will be an absolute introduc(on to guitar. Students will learn how to: tune the guitar; iden(fy notes on the music staff and guitar strings, count basic note rhythms, strum simple chords, and play songs while singing along!
The second semester will be a Beginner II class that builds on the Beginner 1 class. Students will: begin to learn more complicated rhythms and scale techniques; learn about key signatures; be introduced to fingerstyle guitar; and learn how to play duets.

Guidelines:
o Each student will need to have her/his own guitar in a carrying case (so6 or hard) if possible. o Always keep a spare set of strings with the guitar AND picks.
o Keep a pencil in the guitar bag or case.
