Just Transition South Gippsland

You may have heard of Just Transition South Gippsland. This is a group of South Gippsland residents who have been working for the last six months on developing a strategy for transitioning our region away from fossil fuels from the ground up. We believe that as a community we have extensive knowledge and expertise on what will work in our region. Up until now the group has been working on different issues that impact our community related to energy, food and farming, housing and transport. You can find out more about the whole project on this website: jtsouthgippsland.org
This is a great website and is certainly worth a look. Further, on the Story So Far page it includes a Draft Road Map which is a really important statement covering all facets of local life including the physical and social environment of South Gippsland. This statement should be considered by anyone with an interest in the future of South Gippsland, and particularly potential candidates for the upcoming Council elections.
Please read it. Please join the Just Transition group. Please get active and thereby contribute to a better South Gippsland.

Grow Your Own
I know, this diagram rightly belongs to the soil biology masterclass that was held last week. A shame if you missed it. But the diagram is back in this week for you to peruse anyway - we all, every one of us, need to have some understanding of what's going on down there below the soil surface. Some of these creatures are visible to the naked eye, springtails for instance, but many can only be seen under a microscope so you have to use your imagination. Imagination is a vastly undervalued faculty. Check out what eats what, to get some idea of which is small and which is even smaller.
