Getting God's Word out
Michael has been working with the ASELSI Bible classes to help record and teach classes that are being used to equip students with God's Word. Each class has a four-part lecture phase that is pre-recorded and a live weekly portion that is held in a video chat session. There are about 35 students from Guatemala, Mexico and Venezuela currently in the pilot program for these online classes. With more than seven teachers plus technical staff and others working together, the goal is to have the full 14 courses in this basic Bible study level recorded by the end of the year. Above, Michael teaching one of the Life of Christ segments that will go out to students later this month.

Feeding and connecting families
Working with local churches we continue delivering care packages of food items as we discover families and individuals in need due to quarantines, storms and just basic lack. By working with local churches we are able to connect food supplies with real needs and help connect people with the local church. Above, families in the Cotzal area receiving food packages. Thank you for helping make these food gifts possible.

DiscipleTec: Using tech to teach the Word
DiscipleTec is our discipleship group for the youth who have outgrown the Little Disciples Bible study. Michael continues teaching this small group of young men who are in their early- to mid-teens. Together they are reading God's Word and talking through ideas for applying it in their lives. Above, Gustavo and Elvis follow instructions to assemble part of a hand-powered generator after a lesson on the importance of following God's instructions for us.

Adventures in the Bible project keeps growing
Since we posted the Adventures in the Bible book on our website back in April, more than 4,320 story sheets have been downloaded to help teach kids God's Word in 22 countries. We've distributed about 1,000 physical copies of the kids book and we're working on printing new versions so we can use them to help train and equip teachers, parents and pastors to disciple kids across Latin America.

Our growing family
As we start the new school year, our kids are involved in a variety of activities (schooling, reading, soccer, sewing, Bible study praise team, etc.) We're all excited about our new baby that we're expecting mid-September. The kids have even been decorating the house to celebrate! Here's a recent photo we took together after celebrating Chrisi's birthday this month.

Please pray...
1) that Guatemalan hearts are open to God's transforming Word.
2) for wisdom for our ministry site and family housing. (The owners are wanting to sell the house we have been renting, so we need to either buy or find something different to rent.)
3) for the easy birth of our new baby coming mid-September!
4) wisdom for Guatemalan leaders as nightly COVID-19 curfews have been extended into September.
