Dear All,
We are delighted to bring you news of the return of the Berwick Music Series this autumn, an exciting time in Berwick. You can see more about the other Autumn festivals below.

Headlined by Stephen Upshaw, BMS will have concerts, lectures, a chant workshop, an international composition competition and a sound installation. You can find full details at https://berwickmusic.org/

All the events are bookable separately, or you can buy a joint ticket to cover all events for only £20, which we hope will make BMS accessible for everyone. Covid safety measurements at the Watchtower Gallery mean that only 50 tickets will be available for the concerts, so early booking is advised.

If you are able to volunteer at any BMS event please contact pamcampion@sky.com with your details and availability. We would be grateful for any help you can offer!

All of BEA’s Autumn Programme is now bookable on Eventbrite. The art classes will be classroom based, and the lectures on zoom.

On 4th September at 10am, we see the return of Mike Fraser with the second half of his look at Northumbrian politicians. The talks are given in association with Berwick Literary Festival and BLF Patrons are offered a concessionary rate of £4.50.

On 14th September at 7pm we welcome a new face to BEA. Elizabeth Devon will be introducing a three week course on local geology, always a popular topic. The course costs £9, individual sessions £4 each.

We have the welcome return of Gill Walton with a 5 week life drawing class at the YHA beginning at 10am on 21st September. The course costs £88 and is limited to 10 students. We may repeat it in the afternoons if there is sufficient demand.

Local conservationist and tour guide Liza Cole will begin a 5 part course on local coastal wildlife beginning October 3rd at 6pm. Her lectures will be held monthly and can be booked individually or as a course at a cost of £22.50.

Prof Maria Chester returns with a 10 part, highly illustrated course on Ice Age Art, beginning on 5th October at 4pm. The course costs £30, individual sessions £4.

Local artist Gail Wareham will introduce a 3 part practical guide to drawing architecture for students of all abilities beginning at 10am on the 2nd November at the YHA. There will be 10 places and we may repeat the sessions in the afternoons if there is sufficient demand. The cost of the course is £47.

Astronomy with Dr Adrian Jannetta returns for 5 sessions beginning 30th October at 11am. The cost will be £15 for the course with individual sessions available at £4 each.

Anne Everest will be introducing us to Roman love poetry in three sessions beginning on 4th December at 10.30am. The cost will be £13.50 and there will be no need to read the poems in advance.
