Dear Music Students and Families,
We have great news: in-person private lessons are back beginning September 7th!
But before we get into the details, I’d like to take a moment to say how much we’ve missed you over the past year.
When the World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus a pandemic on March 11, 2020, we had very little information. We were unsure of how the virus spread and how long the pandemic would last. All we knew was that to keep ourselves safe, we had to socially distance as much as possible, which meant staying home and teaching virtually.
Throughout the unending uncertainty of the past year, PMA has had one constant — dedicated teachers willing to work with students to keep them on track with their music studies.
More than a year later, we’re finally ready to begin a return to in-person lessons. We’ll be offering private lessons with these provisions. We’ll be taking temperatures and asking students to wash their hands when they enter the building. Students and teachers will wear masks, regardless of vaccination status, and maintain at least 3 feet of social distance during lessons. We have also put air filter/fans into our music rooms and will be scheduling 15 minutes between lessons for “airing out”. As the OHA guidelines change, we will respond to those changes. Parents and students will receive further information regarding new COVID-related procedures as they are announced. Please be patient as we all navigate another unusual Season.
Some students may be wondering if they can continue with virtual lessons. Certainly, our lesson time request form will give you the option to sign up for virtual lessons only.
Remember, the new term starts September 7th, and students will be scheduled on a first come first-served basis. We look forward to hearing from you and continuing our musical journey together.
