HEADLINE
- Arrangements for matches that can’t occur (#1)
- Preparation of fields for Saturday (#2)
- Pencil in a video conference call for Thursday PM (#3)
ACTION REQUIRED
- Consider ground preparation contingencies (#2)
DETAIL
Points one and two following are contingent on the NSW Government ending the lockdown at midnight, Friday, 27 August 2021, thus enabling football to resume on Saturday, 28 August 2021.
- Regular season matches unable to occur to be scoreless draws (For info)
In the event a match scheduled for Saturday, 28 August 2021, Wednesday, 1 September 2021, or Saturday, 4 September 2021 can’t proceed (due to rain, heat, smoke, pitch conditions or the availability of players due to COVID-19 restrictions) and can’t be played on or before Sunday, 5 September 2021 by mutual agreement of both teams, the match will be recorded as a scoreless draw. The ladder, as it stands at 11.59 pm Sunday, 5 September 2021, will be used to determine the four finalists.
- Preparation of fields (For action)
Clubs should consult with their councils and or grounds people ahead of matches on Saturday. Under the NSW Government rules, Council staff care allowed to tend to recreational facilities (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/authorised-workers). We’re seeking advice from councils on their intentions. Clubs might like to prepare contingency plans.
- Plan D (for noting)
In the event the NSW Government on Thursday continues the lockdown beyond Friday midnight either wholly or on a region by region or LGA by LGA basis, we will convene a video conference Thursday, 26 August 2021 at 7.30 pm to discuss options.
