Participation in the CHOP/Penn 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition
 

Dear CHOP Postdoctoral Fellows,

We’re pleased to announce that CHOP and UPenn are joining together to host their first 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, based on the successful academic research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland in Australia.

As highlighted by Dr. Susan Furth, MD, PhD, Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, in her recent CSO Connection, we’re increasingly recognizing that effective scientific communication is critical in maintaining a healthy discourse on scientific and medical advancements, and in improving public health as a whole. Consider this your call to action, and a first step in fulfilling your obligation to society as an exceptional scientific researcher.

The 3MT® program is meant to develop the ability of researchers to communicate the significance and outcomes of their project in a short space of time. For the CHOP/UPenn competition, you will record and upload your 3-minute entry according to the 3MT® guidelines, which will then be evaluated by CHOP and UPenn faculty. Winners will receive a gift card prize and be recognized at a special event in December 2021.
